You don’t have to sing well, just have fun is the motto of the owner of the new Lafayette karaoke bar opening near the Acadiana Mall.
Jeramie Kinnerson, better known as “The King of Karaoke”, is bringing his passion to a new home in Lafayette. The Stage Karaoke Bar hopes to bring out the artist in everyone.

Kinnerson has been singing karaoke and providing entertainment in Lafayette for 10 years. During this time, he founded Party Starters Karaoke Entertainment to spread his passion to bars around town.
“When I got into karaoke, I was like ‘man, nobody updates their music. Let’s start our own karaoke business.” So we went to a place called El Sitio. The owner was like, “You’re going to start next Wednesday, I have an opening. and I was like, Wait, we don’t have any equipment. He said ‘if you really want to do this, make it happen.’
From that point on, he put his all into building a karaoke empire and is thrilled that The Stage is part of that legacy. Kinnerson hopes this hub will inspire more people to step out of their comfort zone and step into the spotlight. Each singer will be offered a free shot after their song.
Entertainment:Upcoming Events in Lafayette from January to Spring 2022
The Stage Karaoke Bar will be open Friday through Monday with extended hours to be announced. They will feature garden games like giant Jenga and Connect 4. This summer, the site will host outdoor karaoke.
The business is located at 5741 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503 Suite B next to GL’s Mongolian Grill. The bar is expected to open in January although no date has been given at this time. For updates, visit Facebook.com/thestagekaraokebar
