Miami-themed Kush at Clevelander Sports Bar aims to lure locals to iconic Ocean Drive location – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

The Clevelander is one of South Beach’s most famous hotels, and of course tourists love it too. But a restaurant owner wants to bring locals back with a new sports bar concept that only true Miamians can enjoy. Deco’s Alex Miranda, who enjoys a cold beer at any bar, has the details.

Ray Finkel? Where am I?

Jim Carrey (as Ace Ventura): “I’m in Psychoville and Finkle is the mayor. Where is Dan Marine?

Relax, Ventura. It’s right here – inside Kush in Clevelander, a new sports bar and restaurant at the iconic Ocean Drive hotel!

Bruce Siegel: “Anyone coming to South Florida, wherever, you know, you gotta stop in Clevelander.”

But sorry, tourists. This CRF graduate wants to take over SoBe.

Matt Kuscher: “It’s a Miami-themed sports bar, and if you’re not from Miami, you probably won’t get it.”

Matt Kuscher is the mastermind behind some of the burgers etc. the most popular and award-winning in Miami, Hialeah and now South Beach.

Alexander: “The vibes are there and the food is always on point.”

Like this bang bang shrimp.

Alexander: “I love seafood, and it hit me today.”

And does anyone else fancy their exclusive Kaptain Kush, brewed by Tank in Doral?

Matt Kuscher: “So right now, because it’s so early, you’re probably the only person in the world drinking this beer.”

Uh, thanks for calling me, Matt.

Matt Kuscher: “And then we also have our version of an Aperol spritz called ‘I Still Call It Joe Robbie’.”

Alexander: “The Kush Cubano, with the fries, the pulled pork. I’m so excited to dig right now.

Alex Miranda: “Yeah, but you’ve already eaten, haven’t you? You’re not that hungry.

Alexandre: “No, I’m really hungry.”

Alex Miranda: “OK, well, I’m hungry, so goodbye.”

But also art.

Matt Kuscher: “I have Kimbo Slice. The Don Shula highway there.

And that…?

Matt Kuscher: “A unique piece by Dan Marino/David Hasselhoff that you will never see anywhere in the world.”

But not so much… Florida.

Alex Miranda: “I know you’re from Florida.”

Matt Kuscher: “Uh, I’m not.”

Alex Miranda: “You are absolutely from Florida.”

Matt Kuscher: “But I’m from Miami, though.”

Alex Miranda: “Good. Miami, Florida?”

Matt Kuscher: “No. Miami-Dade County.

Alex Miranda: “Florida”.

But, with their 20 TVs and even a Pitbull-worthy VIP room, everyone is welcome, even from Florida.

Matt Kuscher: “Just do good things, and do them well, and it’s going to be fine.”
