Watch the NBA Finals game at a new chef-run sports bar in Berkeley

Put those greasy fries and sad drinks aside. There’s a new kind of sports bar in town.

Public house 4 bells, a new fast-casual sports bar and pub, opened today at 984 University Ave. in Berkeley, just in time for Warriors fans to watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals in style. The name refers to the number of basketball quarters and bells in popular sports around the world. 4bells is open from 3pm to 9pm daily with a happy hour from 3pm to 6pm

Two Berkeley stars are behind the new venture. Chef Sergio Emilio Monleón of tapas bar La Marcha and Jennifer Seidman, owner of the whiskey-centric Acme Bar & Company, are the duo behind 4bells Public House, which offers fine bar food and craft cocktails in a fun neighborhood pub space with an arcade game room housing vintage pinball machines.

On the menu, look for savory bites, like Gochujang-Honey Buffalo Wings and Chipotle-Miso Glazed Cauliflower, plus Duck Sausage Chihuahua Dog, Oxtail Tamales and Fried Chicken and Oaxacan-Mole waffles. Did we mention the harissa-spiced onion rings?

The bar offers 12 local draft beers, mostly sourced from within 25 miles, and a variety of cocktails made with fresh juices and homemade syrups. Look for a selection of 20-25 Californian and international wines, sold primarily by the glass. Details:
