Sports bar Dirty Bones gives wings to Victory Park in Dallas

There is a wing joint that arrives at Victory Park: dirty bonesa sports bar from Dallas-based Milkshake Concepts (Harper’s, Vidorra, Citizen, etc.), will open at 1701 Payne St. #150, on the ground floor of the Victory Place Apartments building.

According to a statement, it will open on April 18, bringing “wings, sport and spirit”, and will be open for lunch and dinner, with late hours, because that’s how Milkshake Concepts rolls.

The menu will feature wings in a choice of more than 20 dry sauces and seasonings, with over-the-top options including peanut butter and jelly, and 24-karat gold sauce.

There will also be salads, burgers and chicken sandwiches as well as starters to share such as:

  • Flaming Hot Cheeto Fried Pickle Spears
  • dirty toddlers
  • Tightrope Onion Trick

Milkshake Concepts co-founder and CEO Imran Sheikh notes in a statement that Dirty Bones enjoys a prime location directly across from the American Airlines Center and describes their wings as “the best wings imaginable.”

They call this opening a “move”, since Dirty Bones originally open a year ago in Crockett Row in Fort Worth, in the 7th West district. They seem to have waded into the pandemic, and Yelp noted that the Fort Worth location was locked down in January 2022. But Milkshake Concepts is getting rid of it and moving on.

The release doesn’t mention it, but the main photo on their website doesn’t show wings but a row of young women at the top of the belly, so it seems to be some kind of their Hooters riff. Guys, come on, you’re better than that.

The company was founded in 2015 by Imran Sheikh, James Faller and Asim Sheikh, and its current concepts include Harper’s, Vidorra, Citizen, Serious Pizza, Dirty Bones and Sky Rocket Burger, as well as two new concepts: Layer Cake in Nashville and The Finch in Dallas, and more concepts slated to open in Grand Prairie in the fall of 2022.
