Secret tiki bar opens in Hatch under Mancunian Way

Slingshot fans rejoice – there’s a secret new tiki bar in town.

Miami Tiki has just opened at Hatch, nestled in one of its shipping containers above its sister spot Miami Ice, the 80s disco bar.

Decked out in full tiki decor, the bar features the usual centrally planted bamboo hut and an extensive menu of tropical cocktails.

MEN got a glimpse of the new venue this week and were able to sample the range of cocktails on offer. Among the drinks on offer are your classic Mai Tai and Pina Coladas, as well as the high-mescal Paloma.

The bar even has a hidden terrace for the summer months, and any food from other Hatch traders can be brought in to eat.

It’s an indoor tropical paradise

The opening is part of a series of changes to the market, located just below the Mancunian Way.

Sicilian street food folks T’arricrii are moving to bigger premises to keep up with demand.

Parmogeddon is also moving its Teesside goodies to a larger unit – the ‘parmo’ being a fried chicken sandwich loaded with bechamel sauce and cheese, while nail bar It’s A Nail Thing is moving to a new, larger indoor location.

All your tiki favorites are poured

The place is also launching a new post-work offer. The after-hours session runs from 4-7 p.m. every Friday.

Groups of five who book through the Hatch Reservation System and arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. will receive a complimentary pint or glass of wine.
