New Fort Monmouth Sports Bar with Virtual Golf and Fire Pit En Route

OCEANPORT, NJ — Not only the opening of the very first brewery in Fort Monmouth earlier in October (Birdsmouth Beer, which opened October 15), but a massive new sports bar and restaurant is also set to open there.

The sports bar will be called Baseline Social; renders of his appearance are above. The construction of the bar is underway and it is not expected to open before spring 2023; an exact month is not yet known.

The brasserie and sports bar are located at The Commissar at Baselinewhich was the old grocery store when Fort Monmouth was an active military base. The Commissioner is located at 675 Oceanport Way in Oceanport.

Baseline Social is owned by Andrea Pappas, Greg Bartz and Phil Villapiano, owners of Lac Bar + Co offeran American-style bar/restaurant with three open bars and a large outdoor dining area in nearby Loch Harbor.

The trio of restaurateurs from Monmouth County wanted to bring the same kind of atmosphere to the former military base of Fort Monmouth.

The sports bar will bring a “one-of-a-kind Fort Monmouth immersive dining and entertainment experience” with a “large LED display wall perfect for watching the game” and a 38-seat platform lounge.

Baseline Social isn’t just for watching sports: The bar will have five virtual golf bays with full-throttle technology that will allow patrons to play a variety of sports and games.

There will also be an outdoor fireplace lounge for three season access, complete with infrared heaters.

The brewery is located indoors, as is TGM foods, a third-generation family business that moved there from Keyport this fall. MGT is the manufacturer of food brands such as Mr. Green Tea Ice Cream, Mr. Mochi, The Bear & The Rat Cool Treats for Dogs and Eat Mud Non-Dairy Ice Cream.
