New cocktail bar and late-night venue on the 10th floor

Sweeties is The Standard’s sleek new cocktail bar.

It’s safe to say you can have a great time at The Standard, London: You can hop from the chic bar on the hotel’s ground floor to their beautiful rooftop hangout, which most recently opened in summer 2021. February 24you can add another stop to this list: Candytheir brand new sparkling cocktail bar, nightclub and late-night lounge with floor-to-ceiling views of St Pancras Station.

Open on the 10th floor of the 5-star hotel, Sweeties promises “naturally stimulating cocktails” in a 1970s Hollywood-inspired lounge. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a disco ball, velvet sofas, leather banquettes , mirrored tables and, interestingly, a six-foot “antique phallic sculpture” (which we’re rather curious to see once the place opens…).

The theme of the bar is “new wave glamor meets glorious misconduct”, which sounds both intriguing and incredibly fun, and could also explain the somewhat risque decor. But back to those stimulating cocktails, shall we? The menu will feature innovative drinks created by The Standard and mixologists Jack Sotti and Todd Austin, which incorporate wellness ingredients and energizing adaptogens and nootropics. Basically, a bunch of uplifting stuff that will have you gliding across the dance floor with ease.

a range of colorful cocktails

Try the “Pick Me Up” made with a blend of 8 adaptogenic mushrooms, brown vodka, cocoa butter and coffee, or the bright blue “Crystal Healing” made with spirulina, dulse pepper seaweed distillate, bergamot and electrolyte-rich coconut ice cream. If that sounds like enough to make your head spin, most cocktails will also come in non-alcoholic versions.

With an exciting roster of DJs lined up, Sweeties seems like a great place to dance into the wee hours of the morning, perhaps after a sunset drink at The Standard’s charming rooftop bar. Be sure to stop by when it opens on February 24.
