The winning pubs will be officially crowned at a red carpet celebration on June 22 in Euston Square in London. A grand finale will take place with 15 regional winners to be announced as well as the National Pub and Bar of the Year for 2022.

James Hepworth, restaurant supervisor for The Hartley Arms, said: “I think the work we’re doing is paying off. Do I think there are other places that could have won this award? Absolutely. This county, even this region, is filled with exceptional pubs and restaurants and to even be considered among these is a privilege.

“We’re really delighted to have come out on top. It’s something that we, as a pub and as a business, are very happy with. Our sister pub Crown and Garter also won last year , I think. It clearly shows the philosophy of the company is something that people really vibrate with and that goes very well.”
