Meet Toots, a new hidden secret disco bar in Northbridge
We love a bit of mystery and intrigue, and this new opening has it all. Presentation Toots, a sassy new disco bar tucked away in a secret bar IN a secret bar.
All we know is it’s somewhere in Chinatown in Northbridge, so hopefully that helps you narrow it down. Once you think you’ve got it, step into your brightest and best fit from the ’70s, walk to the bar and ask “Is Toots in it?”. If you are in the right place, you will receive a Gold Ticket which will take you in through the Secret Door.
As for what’s behind that secret door, expect the ultimate ’70s time capsule bursting with nightclub-worthy groove and tons of glam. Yep, Toots isn’t holding back and his cocktails are just as playful as the vintage vibes – we’re talking about epic comebacks like the Fruit Tingle (vodka, raspberry, pink lillet with a hint of blue, lemon, lime, tingle), Midori Illusion Shaker (midori, cointreau, vodka, pineapple, lemon), Blue Hawaiian (white rum, blue, coconut, pineapple, chartreuse green, rhubarb) and White Russian (vodka, kahlua, amaro montenegro, salted caramel, soft serve). Not to mention many other classic drinks and tall cocktails, perfect for sharing.
But our favorite thing on this drink list has to be all the retro glasses or maybe the fact that you can turn any vintage cocktails into one go. I mean, we came to party, after all. Why not try the classic Buttery Nipple, made with toffee, baileys and grenadine, or the ultimate B52 with kahlua, baileys and cointreau. Remind me, why have they gone out of fashion?
If you’re feeling peckish, you can treat yourself to a retro Italian menu with chic and delicious numbers like Chorizo Bocadillo or Tuna Crudo. Trust us, you’ll want to have something in your stomach while you can, because before too long the tables and chairs will be pushed aside to make way for the ultimate disco dance floor playing all the groove hits you know and love – we’re talking about legends like Gloria Gaynor, Diana Ross, and Grace Jones, as well as new ground covers from Madonna, Kylie, and Cher. Safe to say, you’ll be knee deep in a boogie wonderland before you know it.
Toots is now open for all the evil disco entertainment. See you there this weekend, if you can find him.
