Man and woman charged in connection with bar stabbing | KFI AM 640
SANTA ANA (CNS) — A man and woman were charged Friday in connection with a melee in the parking lot of a Costa Mesa nightclub that left three stabbing victims.
Tremere Robert Armani Mason, 23, of Newport Beach, was charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, all felonies and one misdemeanor count of battery. He also faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Nancy Ahmad Bakir, 23, of Newport Beach, has been charged with a crime of accessory to the fact.
Police were called around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday to a parking lot in the 1800 block of Harbor Boulevard, according to Costa Mesa Police Department spokeswoman Roxi Fyad.
A man was found with a ‘severe’ cut to his arm at the scene, and officers learned another man had been rushed by friends to an area hospital with a stab wound to his chest , said Fyad. That victim was admitted in critical condition and required surgery, but was expected to survive, Fyad said.
The other two men injured in the attack were treated and discharged from hospital on Wednesday, Fyad said.
The violence stemmed from an argument at a nightclub. Security expelled everyone involved in the dispute, she said.
As one victim messaged his friends that he had been kicked out, Mason and Bakir followed the man and his friends to the parking lot, she said.
Bakir took video as Mason confronted the group of men and stabbed one in the lower back and slashed another in the arm, she said. Mason was charged with following another man and stabbing him in the chest, she said.
Bakir and Mason fled the scene but were arrested the next day, she said.
