‘House of the Dragon’ Trailer Sets Expectation Bars High

“Most importantly, it changed the way the world viewed fantasy on the small screen.”

This is the reaction of the British daily The Guardian to a particular television programme. Well, that’s not a hard guess; the name is – “Game of Thrones”.

This HBO+ show, adapted from George RR Martin’s acclaimed fantasy epic, has been one of the most popular shows in the world for its blend of action, emotion, horror, twist and so on. after!

Continuing on from that, HBO is set to bring a prequel to the series, which deserves quite a bit of attention just because of its name, “House of the Dragon.”

Additionally, the official House of the Dragon trailer was released, and with the visuals and dialogues, it mesmerized GOT fans.

The trailer begins with a glimpse of Rheanyra Targaryan, who can be mistaken for our very own Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryan, because of her blonde hair and body language.

At the same time, the voiceover begins with the voice of Corlys Velaryon, saying, “What is this brief mortal life but the continuation of the legacy?”

This monologue, in a way, sums up one of the main themes of House of the Dragons. Its main fuel is going to be Legacy of Power, evidence of which can also be seen in the next scene where Rheanyra Targaryan is declared the rightful heir to Rickard Stark, the King of the Throne and Ruler of Seven Kingdoms.

Betrayal, blood and war for power – everything will follow the legacy. For example, if you watch a particular scene from the trailer, where Otto Hightower, the Hand of King Viserys I Targaryen says, “We’re playing a nasty game. You have the determination to win it.”

This refers to nothing other than the game of betrayal. Also, at one point, a royal coffin is seen thrown into the sea, which represents death and blood. Glimpses of war can also be seen, likely the Targaryen Civil War, also known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.

In the trailer, Rhaenys Targaryan says, “Men would rather put the kingdom under the torch than see a woman ascend the Iron Throne.”

It shows men’s thirst for power and authority, in this particular case, Daemon Targaryan, who is seen vandalizing the entire city just to gain his authority.

All in all, it can be said that the show will once again demonstrate struggle, legacy, betrayal, blood and death, and everything for power.

However, this show is also adapted from the book “Fire and Blood” by George RR Martin, which sets the bar for expectations even higher.
