Glasgow Pub of the Year 2022 announced as legendary city center bar wins top prize

A legendary city center bar is celebrating its success after being named Glasgow Pub of the Year 2022.

Dozens of food and drink industry players from across the country descended on the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow earlier this week for the 2022 Scottish Hospitality Awards.

The awards are described as “an exclusive celebration of the people and companies that make the country a great place to visit or call home; from restaurants, bars and hotels to shopping complexes, festivals and cultural venues that enhance the country’s cultural landscape,” with the winners being elected by the public.

And there have been triumphs for the city in various categories, with MacSorleys winning the coveted Glasgow Pub/Hostel of the Year award.

The award-winning Jamaica Street boozer, famous for “good food, good music and good vibes,” is wildly popular and has been a downtown institution for several years.

Elsewhere, Silverburn won Shopping/Entertainment Resort of the Year, while the Odeon LUXE at Glasgow Quay won Best Cinematic Experience.

Rawlings picked up the award for Best Restaurant Team, while Douglas Park Golf Club took home the award in the Best Golf Club category.

Voco Grand Central won City Hall of the Year, while South West Scotland’s Restaurant of the Year won Glasgow’s Michelin star Cail Bruich.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2022 said: ‘The awards recognized incredible people who are making a positive difference in the hospitality industry.
