After 10 years of operation downtown, Tejas Grill & Sports Bar1201 Lamar, announced its closure on December 30.

The restaurant, which billed itself as the first downtown sports bar, announced it Monday on its Facebook page. A Tejas official confirmed it was suspending operations and not moving.

“We have truly been blessed to have met so many wonderful people and repeat customers over the years and we will miss seeing you,” the restaurant posted on Facebook. Tejas also announced that he was selling “almost everything in the restaurant”.

The post gave no reason to close. The owner could not be reached for comment. According to its website, the restaurant is owned by George Carameros, who operated the Don Patron Bar & Grill, 500 Dallas, from 1993 to 2016.
