Arbua owners open new bar, Post, in Bournemouth town center
Bournemouth’s newest bar has opened in a former post office in the town centre.
From the folks behind Aruba, the sleek new bar has taken over the old Pizza Express building in Post Office Road.
The new bar is a Bier Haus built on the “bohemian spirit”, inspired by European adventures through the Alpine regions.
The four directors, Andy Price, Benjamin Reynolds, Matt Piovan and Chris May spent two years breathing new life into this iconic building.
Benjamin-Banks Reynolds said: “Post has unique decor, live music, entertainment and mouth-watering menus.
“The space will transform with the seasons as guests are immersed in moving themes; from summers of botanical flora, to infamous Oktoberfest celebrations, to cozy alpine winters.
“Post’s interior design was created and executed by one of the UK’s leading interior designers, who matched the beauty of this building’s exterior with the new interior, fitted with elaborate ceilings, cubicles comfortable, long benches, lively decor, a large stage and a beautiful statement bar.
“Guests will dine and drink on long communal benches, giving it that Bavarian food hall feel, enjoying the tastes of authentic Alpine dishes, including bratwursts, meatballs, pretzels, pan-fried schnitzels and stein burgers, with sides of sauerkraut and more.”
Drinks on offer include over 20 beers and a selection of 20 specialty cocktails.
Post will also host weekly live entertainment.
Benjamin added, “Our job as traders is always to look at the market and look ahead and what’s to come.
“We hope to build a real community and a place where anyone, regardless of age, can come and feel comfortable, enjoy quality products and have a good time. It’s fun without pretension. ”
It was announced in September 2020 that the Pizza Express branch would be closing.
