Alibi, a new cocktail and karaoke bar, is to open in Altrincham town center
A new cocktail and karaoke bar is opening in Altrincham town center from the team behind the Common Ground cafe.
Alibi will open in the unit formerly occupied by The Drawing Room on Friday, September 2, once the renovation of the space is complete.
It was originally due to open in 2020 but the project was delayed by Covid.
It will be open from Thursday to Sunday each week and also plans to open other days of the week for major events, including the World Cup this winter.
Alibi is owned by business partners Carl Peters and Richard Littman, who took over Common Ground last year after establishing a reputation in London with venues such as Translate in Shoreditch, Steam & Rye and The Coronet.
Peters said: “We are delighted to launch Alibi in Altrincham. It’s been a long time and we know it will be a favorite with locals of all ages.
“We have created the perfect space to relax with friends and have some truly carefree fun after a long week.”
The bar will have a karaoke area on the ground floor which will be available for private bookings for groups of up to 16 people.
Littman added: “We know Altrincham’s nightlife scene well and are confident that Alibi will be a popular place for those who like to party.
“We’re getting everything ready for launch in September when the karaoke machine is ready and the cocktails are flowing…we can’t wait!”
