A new sports bar will open in Derby town center this spring
A new sports bar will open this spring in the former premises of the Las Iguanas restaurant in Derby town centre. The Latin American-themed channel permanently closed its Friar Gate site when it failed to reopen after the coronavirus lockdown in the summer of 2020.
The unit has since stood empty, but will soon become The Clubhouse, an “upmarket sports bar and experiential bar” run by Derby Brewing. The site will have multiple screens for football, rugby, cricket, golf and tennis fans to watch their favorite sports teams and players in action.
There will also be “high-energy group games” including shuffleboard, beer pong, table football and a karaoke booth available at the new venue, which is expected to open in May. On the menu, “artisanal pizzas”, “gourmet burgers” and a range of southern-style fried chicken.
