A new sports bar opens with a pair of full golf simulators in the Gaslamp Quarter

A new pub and restaurant that takes the term “sports bar” to a new level has opened in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.

Johnny WOW! The Golf Bar, which landed on Fifth Avenue and replaced Volcano Rabbit, is a bar and entertainment venue that features two Full Swing golf simulators that allow guests to practice on some of the best golf courses in the world , according Eater.

Customers will be able to play 18 holes at courses like Pebble Beach at Pinehurst No. 2, and the system can also simulate other sports like football, baseball and soccer. Groups can reserve the simulators starting at $50 per hour, depending on the day.

Beyond golf simulators, Johnny WAHOO! also offers an extensive bar menu and sharing dishes like buffalo meatballs, hot chicken sandwiches and unique offerings like grilled cheese on a glazed donut base.

The bar will also serve as the starting point for a new range of locally made lagers under the WAHOO label! Mark. The beers, which will be lower in carbohydrates and calories compared to other local beers, will have flavors ranging from lime to mixed berries.

Johnny WAHOO!, the latest venture from local hospitality experts RMD Group, will also be a sports bar in the more traditional sense. It plans to be a hub for Monday Night Football as the season kicks off in September.

With over 20 TVs across the bar, it will be a great place to watch the game. More than that, the bar is also considering other special events like mock golf competitions and trivia parties.

Johnny WOW! The Golf Bar is currently open 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM Friday and Saturday. It is located at 527 Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter.
